Red - the colour of summer

Folks , OMG there were plentiful tomatos, chilli, parsley, capsicum and one eggplant.
Red everywhere. My favorite were picking the cherry toms, rinsing and then popping straight in the mouth. Check out the bounty.... I planted around 19 plants - probably to many as I had so many toms I could make a batch of green tomato chutney - yum.
And the hot chilli's ...

Fruitful Spring

It has been a while...
Work has been intense and this has meant time for posts has been limited.
The garden had been replanted for spring.
Once the lettuce, coriander, broccoli and cauli had finished it was time for the tomatoes, capsicum and eggplant to go in.
The broad beans continued until well into November
and were very plentiful. The tomatoes are growing nicely ( and very tall) and soon we should be picking.
I have tried cucumber this year too.
The eggplant and caps are not doing too well. Intruders in the form of bugs, have munched their way through the plants. Lettuce and coriander went very quickly to seed with the heat of October and November.
Another visitor to the patch was the dragon fly.
Well, Happy New Year and may 2010 be just as fruitful for everyone, if not more, than the last decade.
